Ugliest card ever

Hi everybody,
Today I'm playing along with Suzanne's blog hop the "The ugliest card ever".
The logo says everyone has one, I have to say I have more than one (haha) but this one is the queen of the ugliest.

I was ashamed of it the moment I posted it, you know when you have and idea but doesn't come out the way you have planned? It took me like 2 hours to make it and when I finished it was late on a Sunday and didn't have any more free time to re-do it. Anyway, no more excuses... Have fun.

Another Birthday Card.

Hi everybody, we had a beautiful sunny day today in Huntsville, the kind of days that puts me in the mood to be creative (smile).
So, I made this card. I haven't used micro beads in a looong time, so this week's challenge at 'Less is More' Use beads  is perfect to put them in use. I made another birthday card, this time for a friend from church.

Thanks for visiting. Have a blessed day.

Pattern Play On Line class

Last week I took an Online Class called 'Pattern Play' with the very  talented Jeniffer McGuire and Kristina Werner and other very creative artists. I enjoyed the classes very much but I hardly had time to watch the videos every day, and now I'm playing 'catch up' with the homework.
I've learnt really some simple but creative ways to use pattern papers. On the third day Kristina gave us 3 tips on using "hard to use pp"
  •  Break up the pattern by cutting it into sections with neutral card stock behind it.
  • Keep the rest of the card simple.
  • Allow the pattern to take center stage—embrace the pretty paper!
So, I came up with this idea of using 'like arrow points' instead of stripes, I cut these with a square Spellbinders thin die.

I forgot about the 'neutral cardstock' behind the pp, and I used green, but I like that matches the leaves.
Thanks for visiting me today. Have a blessed rest of the week.

Birthday Card.

Hi everybody!
I hope you are enjoying your week.
Next week, my sweet niece Heather is celebrating her birthday. I decided to use this sketch from 'Sieze the birthday'. Unfortunately when I tried to link my card, the submissions were already closed, so I decided to share my card here anyway.

I hope Heather likes it. I heat embossed the sentiment in silver EP, but now I think I should probably have used the black one, to match her name made with alphabet stickers.
Thanks for your visit and your kind words.

Thoughts and prayers

Hi everybody! I rarely have time during the week to make cards, but this one was an exception.  I love when this happens... So, I decided to use the fabulous sketch at The Paper Players to make my card. I changed it a little bit because of my pattern papers. (BTW I'm still using my scraps).

I made this card for one of my friends that is undergoing cancer treatment.
Thanks for your visit and have a blessed rest of the week.

More Fun

This is my second card.
As I'm kind of 'new' making cards, I don't have a defined style yet. I do like clean and simple cards, but they're not easy for me to make. I do always visit the Less is More blog, and today's challenge is "Frame it",  so here is my take...

I used the same sentiment as in my previous card (TH's) and stamped flowers in three different SU inks and leaves using SSS stamps. There isn't too much 'white space' so I'm not sure it's right for the challenge. But I did have fun making it.
Thanks for your visit.

Sunday fun

Hello everybody! Happy St Patrick's Day!
I had some fun today in my craft room while taking a break from cleaning the backyard. :)
I liked so much this sketch at Freshly Made Sketches that this was the first card I made.

I embossed the card base with a Cuttlebug EF, I used Lawn Fawn paper for the big panel and I heat  embossed the stamped flourishes on white cardstoch with clear EP,  then  using 'Salty ocean' distress ink I sponged the whole panel, finally using Versa Fine Onix Black I stamped the TH's sentiment.
I'll be back later with more cards. Thanks for your visit.
