Christmas in the air

Hello crafty friends. I hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving.
We did! It's one of my favorite celebrations.
Now, back to normal, working on more Christmas cards.
I used the Freshly Made Sketches # 114 for this one

And I used an old Seize the Sketch for this one

I'm still behind in my Christmas list, but I'm happy I could make all these today.

Thanks for your visit!
Have a blessed weekend.

Thanksgiving

I was so busy working on Christmas cards that I almost forgot it's only a week to Thanksgiving.
I love this celebration (new to me)! With so many things to be thankful for, I love sending cards for this occasion.
I used the fabulous sketch at Seize the sketch # 8  for my first card.

And for the second...

I'm also entering this to The Paper Players # 172 , CAS with leaves.

And I used the Retro Sketches # 90 for my card number 3.

All the papers and sequins I used are by Lawn Fawn 'Into the woods', the cute leaves are the "stitched leaves die" also by LF
Thanks for your visit! Have a blessed Friday.

Christmas 1

Hello everybody!
I hope all of you are having a great week.
In the past 2 weeks I was making Christmas card for this year's Caring hearts card drive, but unfortunately in my last trip in September I lost the charger for my camera, and I didn't realized it until my camera was completely dead, ooops!
I have few pics that I'll share later.
I have one  to share today, that I made using the CAS(e) this sketch # 54

The paper in the background is Lawn Fawn 'Peace, love joy', as is the mistletoe twine, the ornament is a die by Lil' Inker designs.
Love that sketch, I'll be using it again soon.
Thanks for visiting and have a blessed rest of the week.

November birthdays

Hi there crafty friends! I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend.
I'm sharing two more cards I made on Friday. The first one is for a friend whose birthday was on Saturday. I used again the sketch at Seize the Sketch # 7

The second card is for a friend whose birthday is tomorrow. I used the Paper Players # 169 sketch.

I used mostly scraps for this one.

For the banners I used washi tape on white cardstock that I cut with a Lil' Inker Designs die.
I'm linking this one to Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenges and Simon Says Stamps Wednesday challenge "Anything goes".

Before leaving, I want to share with you what fall looks like in my neighborhood.

Have a blessed week! Thanks for your visit!

New neighbors

Hello crafty friends! I wish all of you a wonderful Friday.
It's 'play day' for me, it's my day off because I have to work the weekend. :)
Two families moved to our neighborhood this past week. One of them is our next door neighbor, I haven't met them yet, so I decided to welcome them with cards and some house plants.
For one of the cards I used the sketch at Retro Sketches # 87

The red panel is embossed with the "Acanthus" EF by Cutlebug, for the trees I used 'Lil' inkers design' die and I used Kelly Purkey's alphabet stickers to write Welcome, as I don't have a stamp for that word. The house is a wood veneer piece by Studio Calico. I like how it turned out.

For the other card I used the sketch at "Seize the sketch" # 7 (I know I can't pass a good sketch! LOL).

This one was very easy to put together, the papers are Lawn Fawn and came in the SSS October Card Kit. Another piece of wood veneer by Studio Calico and Letter stickers by Recollections. I do hope the recipients like them.
I'm also linking these two to Simon Says Stamps challenge Wednesday,  and Simon Says Stamps challenge Monday, is "Everything goes" week.
Thanks for visiting! Have a blessed day.

Happy thanksgiving

Hello crafty friends! I hope you are having a great week.
I haven't posted in a while, it's so nice to get inky again.
I made three cards last night. I'm posting here the first one that I made using the sketch of the Fusion Challenge # 20, and the colors in the picture.

That beautiful sentiment is from 'Harvest expressions' by Inkadinkado, that I stamped in Versamark ink and embossed with Recollections embossing powder color "Pesto" (Funny name, isn't it?).
The papers and the beautiful leaf are by Lawn Fawn and came in the October SSS card kit.
Thanks so much for your stopping by and for your kind words of encouragement.

Happy Mail for Grayson II

Hello crafty friends!
I hope you are having a wonderful week. Mine started busy, but I'm glad I finally have time to post the cards I made for Aydan (Grayson's older brother and their parents), so here they are.
On this card I didn't stamp at all. The paper is Bella Blvd "Pack your bag" collection. The ships and plane are wood veneers by Studio Calico that came in the SSS September 2013 card kit, and the waves are die cut borders that had on my stash for a long time.

On the second card I heat embossed with clear embossing powder the words 'Believe' and 'Love' both by an old set by Stampin Up!,  to color the background I used distress ink and the focus image is by SSS 'Giving thanks' that came in the Oct 2013 card kit. It looks better IRL, anyway just wanted to share.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a blessed week.
I'm linking the card for Aydan to Monday Challenges at SSS " Nautical".

Happy mail for Grayson

Hello crafty friends!
I was on vacation last month, when I saw this announcement on the Neat and Tangled blog, about a new card drive for Grayson.

Unfortunately, I didn't have any crafting supplies with me, so this week I made a card for Grayson.

The clear stamp is a freebie that came with Issue 111 April  2013 of Papercrat UK magazine. I colored the image with watercolor pencils. I die cut the letters that spell Grayson in turquoise and white cardstock, to make  a shadow (unfortunately hard to see on the pic), then coated them with glossy accents. I stamped the sentiment from the same set with brown ink and embossed it with pearlescent embossing powder. On the inside I put one strip on the background paper and one of the turquoise cardstock and stamped "This card a big hug" that came in the August card kit by SSS.
I made 2 more cards, one for Aydan, (Grayson's older brother) and another one for the parents that I'll share soon.
I think it's never too late to send them, and I hope this could bring a smile on Grayson's face.
I'm linking this to Amy's blog and Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge.
Thanks for your visit and enjoy your weekend.

Merry Everything

Hello crafty friends! I'm back! Yay! I've been out, travelling for almost the whole month of September, visiting family abroad. I had a wonderful time, but I am happy to be back.
It took me over a week to catch up with everything and finally yesterday had some time to get crafty.
I made this card for this week challenge at CAS(E) this sketch.

I was truly inspired by the samples and love the sketch! I decided to make a window card with 'floating' Christmas trees, inspired by this one made by one of my Crafty Idols Kristina Werner.

To suspend the trees I used fishing line. Behind the window I put a 4" by 5.25" piece of pattern paper to cover the space where I'm going to write my message for the recipient. I really like my card, it feels so nice to get crafty again and it was a good way to start my Christmas cards stash for this year.
Here is another view

All the papers are by Stampin' Up! and the tree die is by Hero Arts. The sentiment is by SSS.
Thanks for visiting! Have a blessed week.

Hello!

Hello crafty friends,

I wanted to pop in to share a card I made for the latest CAS(e) this Sketch Challenge
#42. What a fun sketch!

I wanted  so badly to 'get inky' when I came home from work tonight, but I haven't stamped at all on this card. (Isn't that weird?) The flower is a stamp and matching die by Hero Arts, and I used a wood veneer speech bubble that I got at Michael's. Very simple card, but it took me a while to choose all the elements. So here is my card.

Hope your having a great week! Thanks for visiting.

Back to School

Hi everybody! I hope all of you are having a great Saturday. I'll be working, yes, the Library opens on Saturdays, that's why I'm posting this early.
Kids went back to school last Monday here in Huntsville. I love everything related to school, I used to be a teacher and I remember the excitement that surrounds the starting of every school year... I still miss that! Anyway I made 2 cards, one for my husband's grandson who is starting 2nd grade and the other for my friend's daughter who is starting 5th grade.
Here are my cards

The papers are Graphic 45, 'An ABC Primer collection', as I don't have any appropriate sentiment, I hand written it with a white pen on black cardstock.
I'm linking my cards to Simon Says Stamps. Wednesday challenge 'Back To School'.

Thanks for visiting.
Enjoy your weekend!

For a Special Day

Hi everyone! Wow, it's been almost a month since I've blogged...it feels like forever. Anyway, here I am again.
I did make some cards that I'll share soon, but I just didn't have time to post. At the beginning of this month we adopted a puppy, and it's been busy around here (smile).
One of my favorite dies companies "Lil Inker Designs" is celebrating its 3rd birthday, so I made a card  to celebrate with them. Here is the inspiration picture

And here is my card. I chose the colors and wanted to make a bow/flower similar to the one in the center bottom, which was cute but too bulky, so I made a flower using the 'tails' of the 'Mini bow'.
So here it is to Lil Inker Designs and to many more years!
Thanks for your visit! Have a blessed weekend.

Always a friend

Hi everybody, it's me again. Last night I made another card just using some scraps I had on my basket.
I used the sketch by Retro Sketches and I made a rolled flower to play along with "Less is more" which is a challenge I love but CAS are kind of difficult to me, so I rarely do.

So here is my card. I used the Polaroid frame by Lil' Inker Designs, the sentiment is by Simon Says Stamps (card kit May 2012, You can do anything) embossed in white. I used a SU! embossing folder for the border.

Thanks for visiting, have a blessed day.

Catching up.

Hi everybody! I hope of all you are having a wonderful week.
Mine is not the greatest, but you know... it's life.
Anyway, I can't believe I haven't posted in almost 2 weeks. I've been so busy, now I'm trying to play 'catch up'.
For the last 3 weeks I've been taking an Online Card Class, called Summer Card Camp 2, even though I'm enjoying it very much and learning tons of tips, I'm soooo behind with homework that's kind of embarrassing.
Last Tuesday I made a card as a homework for  week 3, day 2 which was to use a special color combination, and a technique of the several that were demonstrated in class that day, I made a card inspired by one made by Jennifer McGuire, using embossing on a die cut.
I don't have many dies, so I used the leaves by Sizzix cut in two different shades of brown and embossed 3 times with  Pearlescent embossing powder by Inkadinkado. I stamped the sentiment on a textured circle and finished it with a butterfly stamped on vellum, embossed in gold  and colored with markers.
Loved the challenge, as I wouldn't have used those colors together otherwise.

Here is a close-up.

Sometime last week I made this other  one, just for fun, because I love tags so much
:) and had some scraps on my desk.

Thanks so much for your visit and have a blessed rest of the week.

Christmas in July

Hi everybody! I have another card to share with you today. I used the sketch by Retro Sketches and the theme at The Paper Players, so here it is.

The papers and sentiment are SU!, ribbon and button from my stash, I cut out the tree using a die by Hero Arts and Sizzix 3 times and added together to make it 3D and added some star sequins. Pretty easy and I like the result.
I'm also linking this to 'Cas on Sunday'

Thanks for visiting. Have a blessed weekend!
